This Excel file calculates the required sample thickness for a given material within a specific polymer to achieve the desired transmittance after irradiation with a selected X-ray source (either Mo or Cu). Conversely, it also calculate the expected transmittance for a given sample thickness. The file automatically populates atomic masses and absorption coefficients for individual elements. The user needs to input the elemental composition and their ratios for both the material and polymer, as well as the densities of the material and polymer, and the ratio between them. Data for the elements is selected from the ‚Elements list‘ sheet. Now it contains only a few elements, so users must provide the necessary information there when adding new elements.
